I need this information as well - what are the limitations of the opensource version?

Radjesh -- This open source version is for the open source community to utilize and extend according to the principles and licensing of Open Source application development. Currently there are no plans to add support for MySQL to open source, but you are welcome to add this under the open source licensing.
This codeplex project is really about open source, so I will only answer questions about the open source edition here, and I ask that you do the same. If you have questions about editions of InstallKey other than the open source edition, please submit your questions at

Ola. Have the same question, but let me phrase it different: What are the differences between the Open Source and the Commercial version?
Doe it also work on a MySQL server? Love to see it implemented if not available. Thanks for the reply in advance.

Gopal -- The open source version is licensed under the Ms-RL license so you can use it in a comercial .Net application so long as you adhere to the restrictions in the license. The full version available from is disrtibuted under a traditional software license. Whichever edition you use, both can be used in commercial applications, both are royalty free and both are available with source code.
